“Why is that ice hockey rink empty?”, wondered one of my childhood friend, when we we’re playing with our kids in a park.
“When we were young, everybody was there” he continued.
“When I was young, we used to play in the outdoors all the time.”
He was right. We actually were playing and messing around outside a lot, whether it was raining or not. Me and my friends had wonderful games such as Finnish baseball, hiding in the woods and so on. And what about know? Will our children remember those games or will they remember the great outdoors at all? And can we do something without getting rid of Playstations, iPods, Nintendo’s and angrybirds?
We believe, that there is something we could do. Us parents are the ones to decide, how our children attitudes are changing. If we continue like this, our kids are are having a master’s degree on iPad, iPhone, iPod, internet and social media before they reach seven years. At the same time, we might forget the importance of physical activity and outdoor games for our children and we could make them passive, ignorant and couch loving citizens.
Treesure was founded, because as parents are feeling the way described above. We would like to connect smartphone-parents and children. We want to spend more time with our kids, face to face, outdoors. Old traditions in the outdoor living are not working. Treesure will.
